Nice post. I had not read these since I was in middle school (over 30 years ago), and decided to re read them all last summer, they held up really well and had a lot of interesting ideas ideas in them that I of course never noticed as a kid.
Great post, Charlie. You are right about the sense of longing that comes with reading the Chronicles. Longing for something “other and outer” as Lewis says in Surprised by Joy. Easily one of Lewis’ most beautiful themes! Looking forward to reading more of your work!

I reread these as an adult (after 30 years), and reread them in the new order, which I think is a mistake. (Just fwiw)
